Our newly joined NHTG (National Heritage Training Group) students

We recently advertised for ‘trainees for heritage placement’ students a while back – and these are they.. Melloney & Matthew.

Matthew has already a diploma level 1 & 2 in plastering & will be completing level 3 next year with the possibility of completing NVQ level 3 through NHTG

Melloney has a BA (Hons) in Sculpture.

Both are with us for the next 6 months and already ‘loving it…’ according to them. They both wanted to get into the fibrous plastering trade and couldn’t believe their luck when this opportunity came along.

Their 1st week with us in the workshop

Some are from setting-up, coring-out & then running-off a ‘bespoke’ cornice model under the close supervision of our shop foreman Luke Bagnall.

The other photos are of pouring a silicone moulding solution onto enrichment’s recently set-down by the modelling team. This is to replicate the enrichments needed to dress a beam soffit.
